Emerald Coast Dragway Test and Tune Oct 9th

Posted: October 9, 2011 in Uncategorized

Today was one of the most beautiful, comfortable days. If only yesterday was this nice! A great overcast, light breeze, temps in the high 70s low 80s made it super pleasant to be at the track. Wasn’t terribly packed considering yesterdays events, which lent to tons of passes for everyone. A large number of bikes, a few imports, and a few american muscle cars. Nice variety for everyone.  Check out the pics HERE or click the photo below.

Emerald Coast Dragway ECHO series Oct 8th

Posted: October 9, 2011 in Uncategorized
I must say….WOW.  The cars, the drivers, the crowd was amazing. Some of the most raw displays of power i have seen in a LONG time. Tons of wheels off the ground, tires wrinkling, and super fast times.  Not to mention the outstanding smell of race gas in the morning, afternoon and well into the evening. Today’s festivities 100% made me happy to be an American. No electric cars, no hybrids, no eco friendly stuff here. Just good ol push rod powered, nitrous injected, open header, stupid loud, ground shaking American Iron (and aluminum!)  Just the sound of these things at wide open throttle as they rocket off the line made my day. Makes me glad that there is still such a huge supporting for raw pollution creating power.

But that isn’t saying we don’t appreciate the hybrid cars. You guys make up for all the pollution we produce for fun, making it an equal exchange…right? RIGHT!
Pictures will show up from ECHO as they are uploaded, check out here
photos can be adjusted as need be if you like.
I do apologize for the LARGE number of photos. I am working as i upload to tag photos so when you search in the top right of the site for your make/model/color (almost everything will at least have a color, basic colors. If it is more than one color, i will use “multi” and also include the dominant )(for instance, Ford, or Ford Mustang, or in many cases Green ford mustang ) Your pictures will come. If you have an older make and I’m not sure, it will be labeled as “OTHER” to attempt to make it easier. Junior dragsters will be labelled “JR. Dragsters”. Large dragsters will be labeled “Dragster” followed by color. All photos will be tagged with a driver name if i can make it out as well, also, any numbers i can make out on the car!

What an awesome day!

Posted: October 1, 2011 in Uncategorized

So, im watching some TV this morning, and all of a sudden i get a call from my dad as he is standing outside. I go outside and there they are! They drove all the way from Myrtle Beach South Carolina to Navarre, FL. It was awesome to see them! But, they came bearing gifts! The missing half to my roll cage (front half with door bars etc etc) was in the back seat wedged into the convertible mustang. To say i was a happy man is an understatement.

In addition, i pulled the steering rack, took it apart, and removed the internal seals doing a proper depower of the rack. Now i can have space for the exhaust piping and be good to go! Also waiting for a fuel pressure regulator, and calibration kit for my edelbrock carb. once that gets here, i can get back on they dyno and put down some numbers!

Satin black track rat

So as sunday draws near, there is only one thing on my mind right now.

Getting this car ready!

The miata of doom is at about 98% completion. Later today i will take it up to RPM motorsports in gulf breeze for a dyno run to iron out some kinks, sweet spot the timing, and get some numbers. Front bumper isnt on, and i still have to cut out the hood for the exhaust and other random items to poke through since i had to raise the WHOLE engine and transmission 3 inches to make sure the oil pan is not lower than subframe.

Drift And Drag Pictures!

Posted: September 25, 2011 in Uncategorized

Yesterday was such an awesome event! So many people showed up, tons of cheering, huge slides and tons of smoke. Everyone was having a great time and it showed for sure. It was quite the site seeing all of the panhandle region and even some of Alabama, New Orleans, and even some Texas folk to point out just a few. It was an all day event with nothing but action. Drifting during the day and some fast paced drag racing at night. Big thanks to Emerald Coast Dragway for putting on the events, as well as the staff, volunteers, racers and spectators. Without all of you none of this would be possible!  Keep up the good work, and see everyone next Sunday for drifting!

You can buy prints or digital copies from the site, so take a look around, and if you want it, buy it!

Some wiring accomplished!

Posted: July 5, 2011 in Uncategorized

Picked up a new soldering gun and some solder, and sat down to do some work. Tinned a dozen wires so when then loom comes in, I can put the loom on, solder and heat shrink. The gauges are beautiful. All the positive and negatives flow together in a neatly arranged spaghetti of wires. All connections are soldered, use oem connections, then are heat shrinker together after that. Nothing is coming loose, and all connections were tested to make sure there were no breaks. Starter is wired, battery is connected to starter solenoid now along with all the power wires for controls. All that is left wire wise is to run a few sender wires, then connect everything up and ground everything!

Sorry for no pictures, but it is way dark.
More as soon as I can
